We call Cape Coral 'Paradise' for so many reasons: year round sunshine and balmy breezes ... beautiful, unspoiled beaches ... scenic nature trails filled with awe inspiring plants and wildlife ... plentiful parks and green spaces ... attractions and things to do for every interest ... and, of course miles and miles of waterways just made for boating, fishing or sightseeing.

Nearby Sanibel and Captiva islands are renowned for their untouched quality. There are no advertising hoardings or neon signs, just lush unspoiled scenery with lots of wildlife, and beautiful beaches where shell hunting is an island obsession. The restaurants are top class and there is an air of lazy romance everywhere you go.

Fort Myers beach is much more lively with lots of family restaurants and bars along Estero Boulevard. There are also a lot of attractions such as boat cruises, mini-golf, factory outlet shopping and the house of Thomas Edison.

Between November and March you have the added pleasure of manatee spotting, and you can spy dolphins all year round.

Beaches
Beachlovers flock to the gentle slopes and sugar-sand of Fort Myers Beach, known as the world's safest. A short drive takes you to Sanibel Island, "Shelling capital of the Western World" where you can share the long sandy beaches with seagulls, pelicans and dolphin that frequent the waters. Cape Coral's Yacht Club has a public access beach (pictured) and fishing pier, a favourite community gathering spot

Nature Parks
Explore 365 acres of wetland preserve at Four Miles Eco Park, or take a nature walk through the virgin cypress woodlands at Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium in nearby Fort Myers. Keep your camera handy - you may spot marsh birds, eagles, ospreys, raccoons, tortoises, even a bobcat or two. At J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge (pictured) on nearby Sanibel Island, alligators, river otters and more than 300 species of birds make their home there.

Golf
Nestled in the area's natural beauty sits the booming golf industry. A stunning array of new courses have combined with venerable courses such as Eastwood and Fort Myers country clubs to create one of the hottest golf meccas in the country. From a player's standpoint, few places can match the plethora of choices and quality of layouts -Raptor Bay, Grandezza, Palmira, Crown Colony, Solana, Miromar Lakes, and Bonita Bay are but a few of the outstanding courses in the area.

Shopping
Shopaholics and browers will love the range of shopping available from large malls, such as the Coralwood Shopping Center in Cape Coral, and the Edison Mall in Fort Myers to the unique jewelers and gift shops in Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Here you'll also find international galleries and out-of-the-way boutiques filled with designer originals. Tanger Outlets and Miramar Outlet centers offer a large range of shopping for apparel, houseware and gifts, including Reebok Factory Direct, Liz Claiborne Outlet and Gap.
